I am Martha Mejia, owner and designer of Sweet Art Cake Designs, custom cake shop open in 2009 to serve St Louis Metro area. Cooking and baking has been my passion since I was very young. I graduated from College as a Chemical Engineer with concentration in Food Science, but after having children and seeing how much they enjoyed my cakes, I started decorating them. Soon I was making and decorating cakes for family and friends; and a new career was born. It has been 11 sweet years, and now I want to share my experience and love of decorating with you. In 2010, I came back to school and joined the Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie and Baking Program at the renown French school in St Louis; where I learned classic culinary techniques with modern innovations. As part of the program I had the opportunity of working at the Ritz-Carlton, under the guide of their talented Executive Pastry Chef. As a modern Pastry Chef ,I want to immerse Sweet Art Cake Designs in the trends of the modern food service industry; responding to the new demands for international cuisines, service, quality, and nutrition.
